Regarding the workshop, I was in charge of a poster presentation titled “Teaching And Learning L2 Collocations: A Review Of Pedagogical Research”. For this activity, I have learned a lot of valuable skills which are indispensable for my professional development

These teaching practices taught me much about lesson designs for non-major English students, comprehensive instructions, and lesson goal focus. Sometimes, the goals and objectives in the textbooks are only for reference. In actual teaching, a teacher should know what her students need to know and practice so that she can choose the target skills to focus on and design the following lesson plan to reach the goal. My supervisor suggested adding more speaking samples on the slides so the students could copy, follow, and create their own practice. I agree with the revision and will apply it to my future teaching performance.

The second role I nominated myself in this practicum is a photographer. When there was a call for this position in the class group, I applied for the job with a little hesitation. I wanted to contribute to saving memorable moments for my teammates and classmates as much as possible, but I was a bit anxious about how best I could be. However, I have taken photos for tours with a DSLR Camera at a travel company before, so I think my relevant experience can make something this time. I do not consider myself a professional photographer whose images are consistently favorable and appreciated by all. In fact, a good photo necessitates a variety of aspects, such as timing, composition, and lighting. My camera is an entry-to-mid-range DSLR and has no flashlight; thus, the photos cannot be taken nicely in some areas with unbalanced lighting. That’s why so many photos with perfect angles and timing were deleted.
